The second part of the Ukrainian championship has just started, and there are already complaints from coaches regarding the referees. In particular, the head of “Zorya,” Mladen Bartulović, was dissatisfied with the penalty not awarded against “Oleksandria” for a foul against Vladyslav Vakula.

“Referee Maksym Kozyryatskyi made several critical mistakes. And it’s not only about the foul against Vakula, which Bartulović pointed out. The foul was obvious, and the referee managed to penalize Vakula with a yellow card for… simulation.
Kozyryatskyi was not faultless either when the hosts took the lead at the beginning of the second half. Before making the assist to Oleksandr Filippov, Dmytro Myshnyov clearly shoved the opponent, but Kozyryatskyi did not pay attention to this.
What is most disappointing is that VAR referee Vitaliy Romanov somehow didn’t guide Kozyryatskyi on his mistakes. Why then send an entire group of referees and VAR observers to matches if justice is not upheld?
By the way, Romanov should take example from VAR referee Oleksandr Shandor, who alerted referee Denys Shurman that the “Vorskla” player handled the ball in his penalty area, and, having converted the penalty, “Obolon” snatched the much-desired victory,” Stupar said.
