Liverpool bosses plan to extend the contract of Scottish defender Andrew Robertson, reports The Athletic.
Andrew RobertsonAccording to the source, Liverpool is indeed planning to acquire a left-back next summer, but not as a replacement for Robertson, rather for his backup Kostas Tsimikas, whose departure seems more likely.
Robertson has participated in all of Liverpool's Premier League matches this season except for one, and he has been in the starting lineup for 11 of the last 12, making Andrew an important figure for the Reds' head coach Arne Slot, despite some questions about his game.
Moreover, Liverpool even intends to extend the 30-year-old Scot's contract, which is set until 2026, by an additional 12 months.
