Kyiv "Dynamo" midfielder Vitaliy Buyalsky summed up today's match of his team against Poltava "Vorskla" (1:1) in the 19th round of the Ukrainian championship.
Vitaliy Buyalsky— It’s hard to say what didn’t work out because we prepared for one game, wanted to play one way, and it turned out completely different from what we initially agreed on. We started hitting the ball forward, couldn’t get a hold of it, and because of that, perhaps, nothing worked out for us.
— But you did manage to score, you took the lead, and it seemed like everything was not so bad...
— Yes, it seemed that way, but then we conceded a goal from a cross, and that was it. Somewhere the team lost confidence. It’s good that we managed to draw, as we could have conceded even more; you saw that "Vorskla" had its moments.
— The coach said that the field had a big impact, specifically its condition, which was not ideal. How do you feel about that?
— I’ll repeat, we prepared for one game, thought the field would be at least as good as against "Karpaty," not to mention better, so we could pass the ball on the ground. But in reality, we were playing it with our knees or bellies. How could that happen?
— So, the fact that the match was moved from Poltava to Kyiv didn’t make your task easier?
— In fact, we didn’t care where to play. We found out that the match would be moved to Kyiv, it seems, just two days before the game. We understood that all fields are roughly like that now. The whole team needs to play more concentrated in defense and convert our chances.
— "Vorskla" is fighting for survival, could there have been an underestimation of the opponent?
— I didn’t look at the standings. I only saw how they played against "Obolon." At the start of the game, they had chances; they could have scored. But then they were given a questionable penalty, which is why they lost. I can say that was by chance.
— Tell us about your goal, about the good pass you received from Dyachuk...
— Yes, Max made a through pass, I received the ball and waited on pause to see what the goalkeeper would do. I wouldn’t say that it was skill. If you can’t convert one-on-ones, then what should you do?
— The next game against LNZ is away in less than a week, will you prepare for it in not very good spirits?
— Today we will see how LNZ plays. Maybe we will analyze something individually. But soon we will start preparing for this game.
