Starting from January 28, after more than a month of calm, large-scale shelling of Odesa resumed. Since then and until the first day of spring, the Russians have been regularly launching drone and missile strikes. The residents of the city had not yet recovered from the attack by Shaheds the day before yesterday when a missile hit the "Chornomorets" club base in Soviynyon, and yesterday evening a ballistic missile was recorded.
Oleksandr Babich news, Chornomorets news, Left Bank newsThis happened shortly after the match of the 19th round of the UPL "Chornomorets" — "Left Bank" (0:1) ended. The final whistle of the referee sounded at 17:20, after which the "third half" was supposed to take place — a press conference with the head coaches of the "storks" and "sailors," Vitaliy Pervak and Oleksandr Babich, respectively. When journalists and representatives of the press services of both clubs were in the conference hall of the "Chornomorets" stadium waiting for the start of this event, an air alarm went off. It was at 17:44. While those present in the hall were monitoring information about potential danger in Telegram channels, wondering whether the press conference would take place or be canceled due to the air threat, three minutes later there was an explosion of tremendous force. The stadium shook from the shockwave of a multi-ton deadly missile, and the windows in the conference hall rattled. And just a few minutes later, the coach of "Left Bank," Vitaliy Pervak, who was preparing for the scheduled meeting with the media according to the regulations, found himself at a crossroads. At that moment, it was unclear whether there was a necessity to hold a press conference under such dangerous conditions. After wandering in the corridor of the stadium for some time waiting for specifics, the guests from Kyiv finally headed towards the club bus waiting for them at the service entrance. Odesa's colleague Pervak, Oleksandr Babich, arrived in the conference hall after "Left Bank" had left the stadium and answered questions from two journalists who remained.
Meanwhile, it became known that Russia struck the port infrastructure of Odesa once again in three years. As later stated by the head of the Odesa OVA and OFA, two people were injured by the ballistic strike and were urgently taken to the hospital. Two foreign ships were damaged — one was in the port under the flag of Panama, the other — of Sierra Leone.
The all-clear signal after this missile strike sounded exactly twenty minutes later, at 18:07. After that, everyone at the Odesa stadium breathed a sigh of relief. The city residents did the same, hoping for a calm evening and night. However, at 21:49, the siren warning of another Shahed attack wailed over Odesa again...
