Former forward of Kyiv’s Dynamo Maksym Shatskykh spoke about the start of the Kyiv team in the Ukrainian championship in 2025 and the fight for the gold medals of the UPL.
Maksym Shatskykh— Maksym Oleksandrovych, how would you assess Dynamo's start in the second half of the UPL season? The Kyivans defeated Karpaty (2:0) and drew with Vorskla (1:1). What will this affect?
— We will see what such results will affect by the end of the championship. All teams will still be losing points. The main thing is not to lose points where they shouldn’t. So it’s clear that in the match against Vorskla, we lost two important points, let’s say. What to do now? We need to play and keep playing. We must forget about this match, analyze it, and move on. The next match for Dynamo is against LNZ. This is also a fairly good team. Therefore, I think it will also be interesting.
— And do you think that Dynamo and Shakhtar will compete for the championship? Will the giants let Oleksandriya off the hook in the fight for the gold medals?
— How can they be let off? They can only detach themselves from the championship race. Given the play that Oleksandriya is demonstrating now, they have a good team. Oleksandriya shows quite decent and productive football, aggressive at times. So they can only let themselves off. But they will create problems for their opponents, I'm confident in that.
— Can Oleksandriya really become the third force in the UPL?
— Yes, of course!
