Russian officials have intensified negotiations with UEFA leadership about the return of their teams, Russian media report.

According to the source, representatives of the Russian Football Union (RFU) are discussing various options for lifting the ban. The most likely scenario is the return of youth and women’s teams and holding home matches on neutral territory. It is noted that negotiations between the parties have been particularly active lately.
Recall that all national teams and clubs from Russia were excluded from tournaments under the auspices of FIFA and UEFA in the spring of 2022. This occurred against the backdrop of the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.
Teams from Russia are missing the World and European Championships, as well as the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, and other tournaments. The Russian Federation also lost the right to host international football tournaments on its territory under the auspices of both organizations.
