The head coach of “Dynamo U-19” Ihor Kostiuk commented on his team’s victory over Cherkasy LNZ (4:0) in yesterday’s youth championship match.

Now there is a battle for the championship, and in every match, the most important thing for us is to earn points that can become golden.
— In the first-round match, you defeated LNZ at home with a score of 10:0. Did you expect such a result-oriented game away?
— Every game unfolds differently. We scored four goals and, I repeat, could have scored even more, but in the second half, we couldn’t do it. We are not satisfied with that.
— “Dynamo” took the lead quite quickly and by the middle of the first half secured a comfortable three-goal lead. Did such a score allow you to act more calmly and confidently afterwards?
— We were confident in ourselves and fully controlled the game, but the finishing left much to be desired. The ball hit the crossbar and the post; in short, we had chances to score again both in the first and second halves.
— “Shakhtar” lost points today in the match against “Kryvbas,” and “Dynamo” closed the gap to just one point. So, the battle for the championship is heating up again?
— As I said, now we need to score goals and not lose our points.
— In a short time, you had two away matches in a row, and in just five days you will play against “Zorya” at home. Does this require adjustments to your preparation?
— The weather makes its corrections. It’s getting warmer, so we are already planning to go out onto the green field and hold the match on natural grass. We will keep an eye on changes in the weather. Of course, at home, natural coverage will allow for a better quality game because during the winter training sessions we practiced on grass. We understand that artificial turf slows down the game.
— So we can expect a fast and spectacular match against “Zorya”?
— Every game is different from the previous one. Moreover, we know that “Zorya” is a team with ambitions that puts up a fight. If we analyze previous seasons, in matches against them, we lost points, and the battles are always uncompromising.
