The UK plans to unfreeze £2.3 billion received from the sale of the Chelsea football club in order to direct it to humanitarian support for Ukraine. This is reported by UNIAN, citing the Financial Times.

Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated that he would take the necessary legal steps to resolve the issue and ensure the transfer of funds to Ukraine.
We recall that the club was previously owned by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, who got caught under British sanctions in March 2022.
