However, it is obvious that referees will only meticulously count seconds at the beginning of these rules. You will see that referees do not always count six seconds for goalkeepers. Usually, this time is extended to ten or twelve seconds.
I have been in professional football for more than 30 years. During this time, the rules have changed more than once or twice. We were allowed to introduce the ball only with our hands, then only with our feet. A goalkeeper was also prohibited from picking up the ball a second time with their hands if they caught it and threw it onto the ground to introduce it with their foot... But I wouldn’t say that the innovations create big problems," said the expert.
