Defender of Luhansk "Zaria" Roman Vantukh summarized the results of yesterday’s match of his team with Kyiv "Dynamo" (2:2) in the 21st round of the Ukrainian championship on the YouTube channel "FootballHub".
Roman Vantukh. Photo — Yu. Yuriev— There was a very difficult personnel situation in your team ahead of this match...
— I cannot say that the personnel situation was difficult, except for two or three illnesses. Still, we have many players on loan, and we would have played with this lineup one way or another.
Of course, we are happy with the result because we played against the leader of the championship. In addition, we are forming a new good team; I am pleased and proud to be here. Because we have really gathered guys who want to fight for each other first and foremost. Therefore, the result is positive for us.
— In the first 10 minutes, we saw three goals, two of which were from your team, and then you had more chances; you were increasing your efforts throughout the first half. Was the plan to push "Dynamo" in the beginning of the match?
— We simply understood that we needed to try and play. If we don’t try and go into defense — "Dynamo" will break through us sooner or later, and there will be no result. So we decided: let’s try. If it works, we will look better in the eyes of the spectators. That’s why we decided to attack, press at moments — we managed to do that. I think it was an excellent game for the spectators.
— Around the 75th minute, you were already touching your legs. Cramps?
— I didn’t have anything serious. There was a slight spasm, but I had "missed" for about 4-5 days beforehand, plus we train on synthetic turf, and switching to such a pitch is really hard.
From around the 75th minute, cramps were probably starting to cramp my legs because "Dynamo" was controlling the game, and we had to work hard. But we endured; for us, 2:2 is a positive result.
I just want to say that the team has united around the coach. He instilled confidence in us.
