Simeone: "I have never seen VAR review a shot in a penalty shootout"

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone reacted to the loss in the penalty shootout in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League against Real Madrid (2:2, penalties 2:4).

During the post-match press conference, the Argentine tactician sought explanations for the canceled shot by Julian Alvarez.

"I appeal to all present - raise your hand if you noticed that Julian touched the ball twice. Come on! No one? One more thing - I have never seen VAR review a shot in a penalty shootout," Simeone is quoted by BBC Sports.
