Roma defender Mats Hummels, who received a direct red card in yesterday’s 1/8 final match of the Europa League against Atletico, addressed the fans of the Roman club.
“I’m sorry, Roma. I want to apologize to the fans and teammates. I let the team down, the mistake was just terrible. This was one of those matches where the team had to rely on me, but I let everyone down. This cost the club elimination from the Europa League. I don’t know what else to say, I’m also upset, just like all of you,” Hummels wrote on his Instagram page.
