The publication Mundo Deportivo has released a material stating how much the teams earned in the current season. The leader is German Bayern, which has 106 million euros in its assets.
The Munich team is pursued by French PSG (104.4 million), Italian Inter (103.1 million), German Borussia Dortmund (102 million), and English Arsenal (101 million). The Spanish giants did not make it to the top five — Real and Barcelona earned 101 million euros and share fifth-sixth place.
The total fund of the tournament is 2.47 billion euros, which will be distributed among 36 participating teams. In the group stage, each club received 18.8 million; this figure increases by 2.1 million for each victory and by 700 thousand for a draw.
As the tournament stages progress, the prizes increase — 11 million euros for reaching the Round of 16 and 12.5 million for reaching the quarter-finals. An additional 15 million will be added if the team reaches the semi-finals, and 18.5 million for participating in the final, as well as an additional 6.5 million euros for the champion.
