The wards of Oleg Holodyuk are participating in these competitions in preparation for the Euro-2026 qualification (U-17). Today, the blue and yellow team met with their peers from Poland on the field of the National Football Center in the town of Buftea.
The first half was dominated by the Polish team in terms of play and territory, but the Ukrainians counterattacked sharply and even scored a goal in the middle of the first 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the referee had called a foul in the attack earlier.
After the break, the situation on the field did not change. The Polish youth continued to attack and in the 71st minute achieved their goal. After a shot from Zakhar Zalevskiy, Dmytro Pozhar deflected the ball directly to Kasper Berkovskiy, who scored with a header — 1:0.
This goal decided the outcome of the match — a narrow defeat for the Ukrainians.
Romania — Montenegro — 0:0
In the next match, the Ukraine U-16 youth team will meet the Romanian team on March 22 (kick-off at 12:00).
