There are less than three months left until the start of the club World Cup in the USA, but the lineup of participants may change.

After a complaint from Costa Rican "Alahuelaense," FIFA conducted an investigation and found that the Mexican clubs "Leon" and "Pachuca" have common owners in the form of Grupo Pachuca, which is a violation of the tournament regulations. According to the BBC, as a result, "Leon" has been excluded from the list of 32 participants in the club World Cup, but "Pachuca" has retained its spot.
It is still unknown who will replace the club, as FIFA promises to make a statement later. However, "Leon" has already issued a statement claiming that the club operates autonomously in all respects and reserves the right to contest this decision in court.
