Today, March 22, the Ukrainian youth national team U-17 (players no older than 2008) continued its participation in the second round of Euro 2025 qualifying.

The team led by Oleksandr Sytnyk participates in group A1, where they lost to Croatia in the opening match (1:2). Today, our team faced Italy, which defeated Slovakia (1:0) in the first round. The match took place in the Croatian city of Lutsk.
The Italians created the first moment—after a shot from Prisko, our team was saved by the post. Later, Khadasevych parried a shot from Arena at a sharp angle. The Ukrainians responded with several inaccurate attempts. However, in the 28th minute, the blue-yellow team took the lead—Boviо deflected the ball into his own net after a cross from Kalyuzhny.
Later, the Italians created several moments: Arena shot into Khadasevych's hands, and later missed from a less advantageous position. In the 44th minute, Zubriy could have scored, but Lonyoli saved. A moment later, Hamzyk missed after a corner kick.
At the beginning of the second half, Khadasevych saved our team after a shot from Luongo, later Arena shot over the crossbar. The Italians continued to put pressure on our goal and create moments. Unfortunately, in the last minutes, the "Squadra Azzurra" managed to turn the tide of the match. First, Mambuku scored from a corner, and in the next attack, Elimogale managed to push the ball into the net. Thus, the Ukrainians again lost with a score of 1:2.
Two defeats left the Ukrainian youth team without chances to qualify for the final tournament. The final match of the second qualifying round will be held by the blue-yellow team on March 25 against their peers from Slovakia.
