FIFA President Gianni Infantino may be laying the groundwork for Russia’s return to international tournaments.
Gianni InfantinoInfantino has begun to pressure the football federations of Europe to bring the RF back to world football. Argentine journalist Lateral Web Nahuel Lanzon suggested in his article that FIFA has already initiated the operation for the return of RF to big football.
“The future of Russian football on the international stage remains uncertain, but Infantino’s recent moves suggest that FIFA is preparing the groundwork for its potential return. It seems that the 'operational return' [of Russia] is already in full swing,” wrote Lanzon.
Recently, Infantino gave a speech at the International Football Association Board (IFAB) event.
“We all hope that negotiations for a peace agreement will be successful. We must support them not only for sporting reasons. When peace comes, we will fulfill our role. We hope that all countries of the world will have the opportunity to play football,” said Infantino.
