From the 2025/2026 season, the championship of Ukraine in the first league will change its competition format, announced the president of PFL Oleksandr Kadenko.
Oleksandr Kadenko— The last Conference made the decision that starting from the 2025/2026 season we will switch to a classic format: there will be 16 teams in the first league, two rounds. But the final decision will be made by the clubs of the first league at the next Conference. We hope that everyone will support this format.
As for the second league, it primarily needs to preserve the regional principle: there should be two groups. We plan to have 12-14 teams in the groups and we will play in three rounds to collect at least 30-32 games. We can finish in mid-November and resume the competition in mid-March, — said Kadenko.
