The agenda of the next UEFA Congress, which will take place on April 3 in Belgrade, is unusually restrained, but it could sharply contrast with some discussions in the corridors.
“Currently, steps are being taken to return Russia to world football,” a high-ranking source told The Independent.
The publication adds that there are influential figures in European football who “would like to bring Russia back as soon as tomorrow.” Some believe that the country should never have been excluded at all.
Recall that immediately after Russia's attack on Ukraine in 2022, all football clubs and national teams of the aggressor country were expelled from all international competitions.
