Catalan «Barcelona» intends to extend the contract with its own graduate Ansu Fati, Sport es reports.
According to the source, the extension of the contract with Fati will include several interesting nuances. A new agreement will be signed with Fati under the «Umtiti Formula». Thus, the salary designated for the player under the current contract until 2027 will be spread over five calendar years. This scheme was used when extending the contract with French defender Samuel Umtiti in 2022.
It is worth noting that Ansu Fati receives €13 million per year at «Barcelona», making him the third highest-paid player on the team. According to the new contract, the designated €26 million for Fati will be paid until 2030 (€5.2 million per year). The player will also be offered a specified amount of bonuses to agree to this step.
