Former player of Donetsk “Shakhtar” Taras Stepanenko, who currently plays for the Turkish “Eyupsport,” commented on the return to the Ukraine national team of the midfielder of Kyiv’s Dynamo Andriy Yarmolenko.

“Andriy is playing all the matches in “Dynamo,” he is now the team leader, helping them fight for the championship. Therefore, he deserved this call-up to the Ukraine national team. He came there not just as Andriy Yarmolenko — he came as a footballer who has earned it,” — said Stepanenko on the YouTube channel of former journalist Ihor Burbas.

Let’s remember, Yarmolenko was summoned for the March matches of the Ukraine national team in the playoffs of the Nations League against Belgium (3:1, 0:3). In the first of these matches, the Dynamo player was on the bench, and in the second he came on as a substitute in the 89th minute of the game.
