Ruben Amorim’s team, winning 2:0 at the start of the match, managed to turn the second leg into a real thriller. In the second half, “United” conceded two goals out of nowhere, allowing “Lyon” to level the overall score in the tie — 4:4.
But the most interesting part came next. At the end of the match, the guests were left with fewer players after Tolisso’s second yellow card. The match went into extra time, where a true football miracle occurred: the French club managed to score two more goals, despite being at a numerical disadvantage.
It seemed that the fate of the confrontation was decided and “Manchester United” would crash out of the tournament, but the English team once again demonstrated incredible character and will to win. In the last 6 minutes of the second extra time, the Mancunians did something fantastic — scored three times! The winning goal in the 121st minute was scored by Maguire! 5:4 — “United” advances to the semifinals of the Europa League!
