Andrea Karaccolo— In the January transfer window of 2011, I was close to moving to “Juventus,” but they ultimately chose Alessandro Matri. Marotta (Giuseppe Marotta, former executive director of “Juventus,” — Ed.) opposed my candidacy. As he explained at the time, I was not competitive enough, but the truth is different: when I was playing for “Sampdoria,” and Marotta was also in that club, we had significant conflicts.
During that transfer window, “Rangers” also wanted me, but I declined that option, deciding to stay at “Brescia.” Moreover, I also turned down a million-dollar contract with Kyiv’s “Dynamo,” as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.
