The midfielder of Kyiv’s “Dynamo” Vladislav Kabaev summarized yesterday’s match of his team against “Obolon” (3:0) in the 25th round of the Ukrainian championship in a comment to the Telegram channel “Dynamivets”.

— Did you keep in mind that you cannot receive a yellow card today?
— Of course, I kept that in mind; we talked about it with the coach. Both before the match and at halftime. Everyone understood what our next match was (against “Shakhtar,” — ed.), but if we hadn’t won today, it would have been psychologically tougher for us against “Shakhtar.” Of course, I was mindful of not getting some silly card, for example, for talking. But I tried not to concede anything in duels.
— Why has the first half, at least the opening 30 minutes, been so difficult for you once again? Are you getting used to the opponent?
— It’s not about getting used to them. I really liked how “Obolon” played. They didn’t just “stupidly” kick the ball but defended well and compactly. Besides, for a match against “Dynamo” or “Shakhtar,” you don’t need to motivate any team. Especially since today was a Kyiv derby. Everyone expects that “Dynamo” should beat the opponent 3:0 or 4:0. And we would like that too, but let’s look at the current realities in our country. We haven’t lost a single game yet; we have a goal we are pursuing.
— What did Alexander Shovkovskiy say to you at halftime that made the team run so much in the second half?
— The conversation was more psychological. But of course, there were some adjustments: we had to play a bit differently, including in the center. Plus, the sun set a bit, and we were already better acquainted with the opponent. We also scored a quick goal. So there were many factors involved.
— Did Yarmolenko say anything to Vanat before the penalty?
— No, Vanat just asked for the ball.
— So Yarmolenko isn’t chasing the record?
— You see, probably not. But even without that, he scores quite often.
— Do you learn from Yarmolenko such curved shots, like the one he scored today that led to the first goal?
— Yes, of course, I watch; I also want to score like that. But Yarmolenko is Yarmolenko.
