Former Croatian footballer Nikola Pokrivač died in a car accident, reports the Croatian Football Federation.
Nikola PokrivačIt is reported that the incident occurred on April 18 near the Croatian city of Karlovac involving four cars. As a result of the accident, two people died, and three others sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity.
It should be noted that during his career, the 39-year-old Croatian played for „Varteks“, „Dinamo“ (Zagreb), „Monaco“, „RB Salzburg“, „Inter“ (Zaprešić), „Rijeka“, „Shakhtar“ (Karaganda), „Maccabi“ (Petah Tikva), and „Slaven“ (Belupo). He also has 15 matches for the Croatia national team.
Additionally, in 2015, Pokrivač was diagnosed with lymph node cancer, but he was able to overcome the illness and return to his beloved profession.
