Forward “Dynamo” Vladislav Vanat talked on the YouTube channel “TaToTake” about the penalty he converted in the match of the Ukrainian championship against “Obolon”.
Vladislav Vanat. Photo — Y. Yuriev— How do you decide in the team who takes the penalty in each specific match?
— Whoever is more confident, whoever asks — that person takes it. There is no designated penalty taker, we decide on the field ourselves.
— Did you ask today?
— Yes, I asked Bulyalsky and Yarmolenko to take the penalty.
— Did Yarmolenko hint that he also needs to score?
— We don’t even talk about it: neither about Yarmolenko’s scoring record nor about my scoring achievements. He scored from open play and let me take the penalty. Bulyalsky also scored afterwards.
— After you converted the penalty, you ran up to Marchenko and said something to him. What exactly?
— He is a young guy, maybe he wanted to throw me off my game. He approached and asked if I was confident in my abilities. I stayed silent, and after I scored, I ran up and said that I am always confident.
— Do you know that you have scored more goals with your right foot in the first team than with your left? Although you are left-footed. How can you explain that?
— I don’t know. Did I consciously work on my right foot? I’ve been working on it for about 5 years. It just turns out that way.
