A scandal broke out at "Porto": Brazilian defender Otavio celebrated his 23rd birthday on Sunday with a large number of teammates, with the party lasting at least until 4 a.m., significantly exceeding the club’s permissible limit of 11 p.m., reports A Bola.
The club conducted an internal investigation and found that seven players celebrated until morning - they are Otavio, Dani Namaco, Samu Aguejo, Tiago Jalo, Neuwen Perez, and Martin Fernandez. "Porto" punished those responsible, with the birthday boy Otavio suffering the most: he will pay a significant fine, train twice a day until further notice, and will not make it to the squad for the next championship match against "Estrela da Amadora".
Neuwen Perez and Martin Fernandez were only fined as they managed to prove they returned home around 1 a.m.
"Porto" risks finishing the season outside the top three for the first time in the 21st century. There’s nothing to boast about in the European arena, where the team was eliminated early in the Europa League playoffs by "Roma".
