Former sporting director of the Italian “Roma” Walter Sabatini commented on the Ukrainian striker of the club Artem Dovbik in an interview with Il Tempo.
Walter Sabatini— Do Dovbik’s difficulties in “Roma” remind you of those that Edin Dzeko had in his first season in “Roma”?
— No. Dzeko had a poor first season here solely in the context of a small number of goals scored (10 goals in the 2015/16 season; Dovbik has so far scored 11 goals this season, — note of the editor.) Otherwise, he was fine as a forward, as he later proved by scoring more than 100 goals for “Roma” (119, — note of the editor.).
Dovbik still has to master the right movements as well as ball reception, which is not always ideal for him. Nevertheless, I saw him making several promising runs, including supporting his attacking teammates.
