The former defender of Kyiv’s Dynamo Vladislav Vashchuk shared his expectations for the match of his former team against Donetsk’s Shakhtar, which will take place today in Lviv as part of the 26th round of the Ukrainian championship.
Vladislav Vashchuk. Photo — FootBoom— Of course, I will support Dynamo. Of course, I want Dynamo to win both the championship and the Cup. I won’t give a different answer on this matter.
— Do you think Dynamo has already secured the championship or is the battle for the gold medals still ongoing?
— Alexandriya is still performing well; they are playing well and gaining points. Even when everything is decided, and Dynamo wins the championship, we still need to win because there will be three qualifying rounds of the Champions League ahead: we need to play to win and work out the squad that will play further and qualify for the main stage of the Champions League.
— Many questions arose regarding the quality of Dynamo’s play — there are opinions that it is not “championship-worthy.” In your opinion, is Dynamo playing convincingly enough right now?
— If we look at the results, the results are there. If we look at the game, we want to see a better, more diverse picture, and everything else. But today we need to achieve a result and move forward with that result and show that we can compete in the European Cups.
The Ukrainian championship is one thing, but we also need to show ourselves in the European Cups.
