Former Shakhtar forward Andriy Vorobey shared his thoughts on the upcoming Ukrainian championship match between Shakhtar and Dynamo.

If we look at the players, then Shakhtar has an advantage, but in terms of team play, it’s with “Dynamo”. However, Shakhtar is missing something, and the coaching staff needs to look into it, as they see the team from the inside. In recent games, there have been no results, the Donetsk team is not collecting points. “Dynamo” is also not shining with beautiful football, but is steadily gaining points. I think the game will not be very bright. “Dynamo” will wait for their counterattacks, “Shakhtar” will try to attack, but it will be difficult to break through the Kyiv defense.
I hope the leaders of the teams will show themselves, as the national team is gathering soon, and many players are selling themselves. I would like to see newcomers of Shakhtar at that level, let the fans of “Inhulets” and “Chornomorets” forgive me. Let them show themselves against “Dynamo”, “Oleksandriia”, “Kryvbas”.
The same applies to “Dynamo”. I finally want to see something from Shaparenko and Brazhko. Everyone expects from them, but so far it is somewhat difficult. “Dynamo” is currently only improving due to the veterans — Yarmolenko and Buialskyi. The old guard is always ready to help.
There are questions for both coaches, but fewer for Shovkovskiy. “Dynamo” is winning in UPL, is almost a champion, has reached the finals of the Ukrainian Cup. There are many more questions about Pushych.
Can Shakhtar take second place from Oleksandriia? Unfortunately, Shakhtar has lost a lot of points where they shouldn’t have. A lot will depend not on the Donetsk team but on “Oleksandriia”. Compensating for four points will be very difficult, but anything can happen in football. In the last rounds, we will check “Oleksandriia” for resilience, character, and nerves.
I agree that 99% the champion will be “Dynamo”, but the Kyiv team needs to be cautious. God forbid, if they lose to Shakhtar, then “Oleksandriia” will catch up with them. Shakhtar is no longer fighting for the championship with “Dynamo”, but there are still chances for “Oleksandriia”. Everything is in the hands, feet, and heads of “Oleksandriia,” said Vorobey.
