Former midfielder of Kyiv’s Dynamo shared his impressions of yesterday’s match of his former team against Donetsk’s Shakhtar (2:2) in the 26th round of the Ukrainian Championship.
Vasyl Kardash— The goal conceded by Dynamo at the start knocked them off balance. It is regrettable that once again in the current season, there was a positional error by stopper Mikahvko. The game of the Kyivans did not make a coherent impression, and it was unclear how they intended to achieve a turnaround. When soon after another defensive mistake the ball ended up in the Dynamo’s net again, I have to admit, I began to doubt that they could at least restore parity.
It seems that during the break, coach of Dynamo Oleksandr Shovkovskyi, like in the recent cup match against Bukovyna, managed to reach his players. They added aggression, effectively using the space between the lines. Of course, the quick goal by Kabaiev also invigorated the guests. And in the fact that the Kyivans escaped defeat only in compensated time, they are to blame themselves, as they did not convert about half a dozen goal-scoring chances.
In my opinion, the actions of the “miners” in the second half were affected by fatigue, as they had less time to prepare for the Classic. Moreover, just a few days ago they played 120 minutes in a cup semifinal against Polissia.
I liked the intrigue of the derby at the "Arena Lviv". The earned point brought Dynamo a step closer to the championship title. I am convinced that both in the May final of the Ukrainian Cup, "Dynamo" and Shakhtar will delight us with a spectacular game, — said Kardash.
