Polihenko and Marchenko became co-authors of the 600th missed penalty in the UPL

Defender «Karpaty» Pavlo Polihenko, having missed a penalty against 18-year-old Denys Marchenko («Obolon»), became the author of the anniversary (600th) miss from the «mark» in the championship of Ukraine.

Since 1992, referees have awarded 2500 penalties, of which 600 have been missed (406 from home players, 194 from guests).

Goalkeepers have been winners of penalty shootouts 433 times, 106 times the ball has gone wide of the goal, in 60 cases the posts or crossbars helped the goalkeepers, and one penalty was not converted due to a double touch by the player on the ball.

In the first half, 251 penalties were missed, in the second — 349.

681 footballers took penalties, out of which 403 players missed at least one. The players who missed most frequently were Ihor Plotko, Oleksandr Rykun, and Junior Moraes — each with 7 unsuccessful attempts at the «mark».

Among 172 penalty-saving goalkeepers, the most successful in penalty shootouts was Vitalii Reva — 19 times.
