Mykola Mykhailenko. Photo — O. Popov— Was the first goal the hardest to score today?
— Yes. Basically, if you look at how the game unfolded, the first goal was very important. We wanted to score it as quickly as possible. But we managed to do that only towards the end of the first half. After that, everything fell into place.
— What was the directive for the game?
— In every game, we have to try to score as quickly as possible: it brings confidence and makes it easier to play mentally.
— How do you comment on the very closed game of "Inhulets" and their desire to waste time even in the first half?
— I won’t comment on the game of "Inhulets". The opponent played as they could, as they were prepared. For me, we allowed "Inhulets" very little today. Playing to a clean sheet is also very important. Basically, I think we can be satisfied with some moments of our game today.
— You scored a goal in a stadium that is not foreign to you, you have performed here a lot as if it were a home venue. What emotions did this bring?
— Every time I come here, I have very warm and sincere emotions. I really like the atmosphere here. I will always be grateful to "Alexandria": this club has indeed done a lot for me. I am always happy to see the people with whom I spent part of my life.
— What are your expectations for two consecutive visits to Zhytomyr — first for the match against "Polissya" in the championship, and then for the Cup final against "Shakhtar"?
— I have already said: we always prepare for each game, for us the most important match is the next one. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Cup final, Quarterfinal, or a league match, it is important for us to win every game regardless of the opponent. We will prepare for the upcoming matches and try to demonstrate our best game.
