25-year-old central defender of Kharkiv’s "Metalist" Gabriel Gomes has come to the attention of one of the clubs in the Ukrainian Premier League.
Gabriel GomesAs reported by the Telegram channel "Insider UPL," the name of the potential new club is currently unknown, but it is known that the interest is serious. Currently, the rights to the player belong to a little-known Brazilian club "Inter de Minas."
Recall that the defender began his journey in Ukraine with "Dnipro-1" — he joined the club at the beginning of the full-scale war, when most legionnaires were leaving the country. In the Dnipro club, he spent one season on loan, winning silver medals in the championship and gaining experience playing in European cups. Although "Dnipro-1" sought to keep the player, he chose a more advantageous offer from "Metalist," who at that time had been relegated to the first league.
In the current season, the defender demonstrates stable performance: in 12 matches he scored 3 goals — all from set pieces, utilizing his strong aerial abilities. His versatility — the ability to play both in the center and on the flanks of defense — only increases the interest in him from other clubs. However, "Metalist" is also in no hurry to say goodbye to the footballer, who has consistently defended the club’s colors for two years.
