Roma striker Paulo Dybala recalled his conversations with José Mourinho that led to his decision to join the Roman club in the summer of 2022.

Of course, Mourinho is special: he is a coach who has won everything, a unique person. I couldn’t ignore his call. But I immediately understood that he would convince me, and so I wanted to wait a bit before making a decision.
The first time we just had a nice chat, it was a long conversation, but he didn’t insist on an immediate answer. But the next day he wanted to call me back, so I told him to give me a few hours to talk to my family and my wife.
I talked to them and with my team, and as soon as I made the decision to join Roma, I sent him a message: “See you soon”. And that’s how we made the deal,” said the Argentine in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
