Bayer Leverkusen has officially announced that head coach Xabi Alonso will leave the club at the end of the current season.

The club has satisfied the coach’s request for an early termination of the contract, which was set to last until the summer of 2026, at the end of this season. Bayer will announce the name of the successor in due course,” the statement from the German club’s press service says.
Recall that Alonso took over Bayer in 2022. Under his leadership, the club won the Bundesliga, the Cup, and the German Supercup.
