The defender of Kyiv’s Dynamo Taras Mikhavko commented on his team’s draw with Zhytomyr’s "Polissia" (0:0) in the match of the 28th round of the Ukrainian championship.
Taras Mikhavko (photo: fcdynamo.com)— It was a tough game, and we understood that it would be difficult, as the opponent also has high goals for the season. We couldn’t score... Such games happen where you need to overcome yourself. There are draws and losses, but the main thing is not to stop. We have a goal, and we will pursue it to the end.
— There are still two rounds left until the end of the championship. Is the pressure for the result on the players?
— Perhaps, it does apply pressure, as we have only one task for each match — to win. But, I repeat, there are such matches... Today we couldn’t win, but we will fight to the end. In our team, everyone supports each other, and we are getting ready for the next matches step by step.
— You started the game on the bench. There was information that you had an injury...
— Yes, I had an injury and didn’t train for about eight or nine days. Before the match with "Polissia", I prepared, took about three training sessions, so I wasn’t physically 100% ready. But I understand everything, and no matter how much time I am given, I am always ready to come out and bring maximum benefit to the team.
— Was it difficult to come onto the field from the bench?
— Not difficult per se. The main thing was to set myself up, warm up, so as not to be afraid of getting injured. There was a lot of tension on the field, and on the contrary, I wanted to go out and help the team.
— Dynamo will play their next match also in Zhytomyr — this time against "Shakhtar" in the final of the Ukrainian Cup. Have you gotten used to the field? What are your expectations for the upcoming game?
— I can say that the field is in perfect condition. We are preparing for the game with "Shakhtar", understanding all the responsibility, as this is the final of the Ukrainian Cup.
