The General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine announced on its website a suspicion of financing military units of the RF against ex-player of "Volyn", "Shakhtar" and the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Tymoshuk. The 46-year-old native of Lutsk, who has been working in the coaching staff of St. Petersburg’s "Zenit" since 2017, participated in events aimed at supporting the enemy army during the full-scale war of country 404 against Ukraine. For a comment on the decision of the Prosecutor General, Sport.ua turned to the holder of the Ballon d’Or in 1986, ex-player of Odesa’s "Chornomorets", Kyiv’s "Dynamo" Igor Bilanov.

"I don’t even want to talk about Tymoshuk at all. Why do I need these Tymoshuks — I have long forgotten about them. If a person does not respect our country and does not remember its history, then what can we talk about! Just write this: don’t ask me about Tymoshuk anymore. I have forgotten about him and don’t even want to mention him.
Additionally, after the start of the full-scale aggression of Russia against our state, Anatoly Tymoshuk has been stripped of all titles and awards in Ukraine. In 2022, it was decided to deprive the traitor of the title of "Honorary Citizen of Lutsk", and in 2023 of the titles "Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine", "Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine" and the order "For Courage" III degree. In addition, the UAF canceled all his achievements as part of "Shakhtar" and the Ukrainian national team.
