Famous Ukrainian coach Vitaliy Kvaratsyany shared his thoughts on the battle for the fourth place in the standings of the Ukrainian championship.
Vitaliy Kvaratsyany— Which of these teams has the best chances in this dispute? — I ask the expert.
— I think it’s Polissya. In the last round, the Zhytomyr team plays at home against Kryvbas, so they have the best chance. They just need to win — and everything, the fourth place will be secured for them.
— A few days before today’s match against Zorya from Luhansk, the head coach of Polissya, Imad Ashur, was fired. Do you perhaps associate this with the team’s surge in performance?
— It’s unclear how much a coaching change affects the results — whether in the long term or short term. The players go through a stress reaction, so in this case, it played its role. The Zhytomyr team approached the game more focused, and maybe the players thought that half of Polissya would leave with Ashur (laughs). But seriously, the guys gathered, united — and won.
