“Manchester City” has abandoned the idea of signing Bayer midfielder Florian Wirtz in the summer transfer window.
Florian Wirtz, Getty ImagesThe German national team midfielder was considered a possible replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who will leave the Etihad at the end of the season. However, after negotiations with Wirtz’s club and his representatives in Manchester last week, the “Citizens” decided to focus on other players.
According to BBC Sport, interest from City in Wirtz has dwindled due to the rapid increase in the cost of any deal. The transfer fee for the 22-year-old footballer could reach 300 million euros taking into account the transfer amount and salary.
