The football club «Dynamo» has signed a new contract with its 19-year-old forward Matviy Ponomarenko. The agreement is valid until December 31, 2028.
Matviy PonomarenkoMatviy has been with the Dynamo club system since he was seven years old, playing exclusively for the “white and blue” in the youth football league. In the 2022/23 season, he was on loan at the youth team of Luhansk Zorya, where he participated in 24 matches and scored 4 goals.
He made his debut for the first team of Dynamo on November 3, 2023, in match 13 of the league between Dynamo and Shakhtar, coming onto the field in the 88th minute of the game. In the 2023/24 season, he became the top scorer of the Ukrainian championship among U19 teams, scoring 24 goals in 28 matches.
This season, Matviy Ponomarenko played 20 matches in the Ukrainian youth championship, where he scored 12 goals.
Matviy also became the top scorer of the UEFA Youth League in the 2024/25 season. Additionally, with 8 goals to his name, he became the top scorer of Ukrainian clubs in the history of the UEFA Youth League.
