Ukrainian forward of Scottish «Hibernian» Mykola Kuharevych, the transfer rights to whom belong to Welsh «Swansea», summed up the season and spoke about plans for the future.
Mykola Kuharevych— How do you assess the performance of «Hibernian» this season?
— I evaluate the season for «Hibernian» very positively. Along with winning the bronze medals, «Hibernian» has set several records concerning various unbeaten and winning streaks in the championship, and also secured a place in the European Cups for the next playing year.
— Was the task from the beginning to win medals, or did you understand during the season that you could take third place?
— At the beginning of the season, we were tasked with qualifying for the European Cup zone, but during the season, we as a team understood that we could and should fight for the bronze of the championship, which became a very good result for the club.
— How do you assess the chances of «Hibernian» to reach the main round of the European League?
— I believe that the chances of reaching the group stage of the European League can increase if we manage to avoid teams from top leagues in the qualifiers.
However, even if we do not manage to reach the European League, participating in the group of the Conference League, where «Hibernian» will have every chance to show themselves well and gain invaluable experience, will give the club a great boost for further development.
— How do you evaluate your game and performance this season — are you satisfied, or could you have performed better?
— I am also satisfied with my game and contribution to the result, especially the period at the end of the championship, when I believe I managed to progress well and help the team. This season at «Hibernian» has helped me gain a lot of valuable experience, although I think I could have scored significantly more times.
— You missed part of the season due to injury. Tell us about the nature of the injury. How did you recover and are you not worried about the consequences of the injury now?
— It was a minor injury to the adductor muscle, so I managed to recover quite quickly and effectively. Given this, I was able to play the second part of the championship without any discomfort. The only downside is that the injury occurred during a fairly busy period when we had a tight match schedule, and because of this, I had to drop out of the game rhythm a bit.
— Your loan at «Hibernian» ends on May 31. Would you like to stay with the Scottish team?
— I would consider this possibility if it arises, as I am fully adapted to the team and, of course, have a great desire to taste European Cups with the club and the fans, from whom I have constantly felt tremendous support.
However, I have a valid contract with «Swansea», so I am gladly ready to spend the next season there. Given this, now the plan is to rest, and after returning to work mode and training camps, time will show where I will end up.
— Can you comment on the recent transfer rumors regarding you?
— I know that there is interest from some clubs, but it is still early to talk about any specifics.
