A significant contribution to Kyiv’s “Dynamo” winning golden medals in the Ukrainian championship of the 2024/2025 season was made by the “universal soldier” Oleksandr Karavaev. Inhis veteran feelings, he recalled the events of the championship, the end of which is not far off.

— What was the most challenging part of the championship season 2024/25 for “Dynamo” and how do you personally evaluate it?
— The most important and difficult thing in a footballer’s career is discipline. But it yields results. I evaluate this season positively for myself, as I scored many needed and important goals for the teams. This is, in particular, what I wanted, striving to assist the team in every possible moment. But no matter what, I always want more.
— How did the breathing down the neck from “Oleksandriya” and the potential tournament push from the traditional competitor — “Shakhtar” — affect the psychological state of the Dynamo players?
— Not particularly. It only added greater motivation to constantly win and not give our opponents a chance. Looking at how “Oleksandriya” performed this season, I can say one thing: great applause to the coaching staff and players for achieving such results.
— This season gave you the opportunity to add a second gold medal to your home collection of awards. Which one was the hardest to achieve and why?
— I can’t say which one turned out to be the hardest. Two championships are pleasant for me in different ways. The first will always remain the first, because I reached it by overcoming great obstacles, challenges, and still achieving my goal.
The second championship is especially pleasant because I put in a lot of effort to play and show results on the field! Plus, many young players, almost all of whom are Ukrainians, won their first trophy. This fact adds more joy to it.
It also turned out that by winning the championship, an additional, already third star is added to the top of the club emblem. This is already history.
