Journalist Serhiy Tyshchenko shared his thoughts on the interim results of the struggle for survival in UPL this season. Recall that yesterday “Chornomorets” and “Inhulets” prematurely took the last two places in the tournament table of the Ukrainian championship and were relegated to the First League, while “Vorskla” and “Livyy Bereh” will play in the playoffs for the right to remain in UPL.
Serhiy Tyshchenko“The two weakest teams by the end of the season were actually relegated from UPL. It’s not a pity for ‘Inhulets’ at all. According to the squad — it’s a First League team. Without Kobin (Vasyl Kobin, — head coach of ‘Inhulets’, — ed.) it will be hard for them to return to UPL with this lineup.
‘Chornomorets’ needed to be relegated at some point. There’s a great opportunity to reboot. It may be possible to change the owner. Instead of just keeping the club on minimal funding, they can build some kind of system. Oleksandr Kuchera will be forming a new team for himself.
‘Vorskla’ and Livyy Bereh have excellent chances to stay in UPL for the next season if ‘Metalist-1925’ takes second place in the First League.
For ‘Livyy’ Bereh finishing in the playoff zone is a success. The problems of ‘Vorskla’ are far from just on the football field. No one understands what will happen next with the club,” — Tyshchenko wrote in his Telegram channel.
