Former midfielder of “Dynamo” and the Ukrainian national team Oleksandr Aliyev admitted that during his playing career he repeatedly broke the sporting regime. As it turned out, the reasons for such behavior were laid as early as childhood.
Oleksandr AliyevIn his early childhood, Aliyev got involved with a questionable company. There, older boys introduced him to alcohol. He confessed that he tried vodka for the first time at just 8 years old. This harmful habit ultimately prevented Aliyev from fully revealing himself.
“I first got drunk at 8 years old, in Ivanovo. The older boys sent me for vodka. I climbed onto the kiosk: ‘Can I have two bottles of vodka?’. And they sold it to me. I brought it to the older boys, they taught me to drink. I woke up, and my slippers were floating in my vomit. That’s how I lived. Outside. I was alone, everywhere. I was everywhere with the guys. For me, it was football, hanging out with the boys, climbing around buildings, sneaking into a warehouse. I remember that they brought watermelons and melons then — we stole them, I brought them home. That’s how I lived before,” - Aliyev recounted in an interview with Slava Dyomin.
