Ruslan Rotan gave his first interview after being appointed as the head coach of "Polissya".
Ruslan Rotan (photo: polissyafc.com)— A few minutes ago you signed your contract and became the head coach of "Polissya". How would you now describe your feelings, thoughts, emotions?
— The feeling, perhaps, the first, is responsibility. I understand which club I have come to, I understand what task lies ahead of the club. Therefore, this responsibility somewhat weighs on me, but it is a new, let’s say, challenge for me and, I think, in terms of growth, it is a very good challenge for me. That’s why the mood is fighting, to work, to prove every day, to improve the players, to improve the results of the team, perhaps the most important thing now is the team.
— There were many rumors on the internet about various clubs, but you chose "Polissya". Why this club?
— The ambitions of the club and my ambitions coincide somewhere, so perhaps that’s the most important thing. Today, "Polissya" has direct conditions, those for which we can fight, for the European cup zone at least. Therefore, we don’t need to fix any small details, there are no small details. Here we need to think only about football and only about improving together, as a team, as well as the coaching staff.
— Speaking of the coaching staff, if you have decided on it, can you now lift the veil for the fans and name who will be included?
— I have quite a large staff: the head coach, my main assistant is Serhiy Kravchenko, analyst coach is Yevheniy Hres, attacking coach is Oleksiy Antonov, goalkeeper coach is Volodymyr Timenko, defender coach is Serhiy Symonenko, and two fitness coaches are Volodymyr Deul and Yevhen Baryshnikov.
— In less than two months there will be a game in the Conference League. What difficulties await you, what are your plans for this preparation period?
— I understand that this is a difficult part right now, it is a responsible part. Ahead of us is a challenge, we have come to a new team, we have come with our idea, different styles have been in the team before. It will be very hard, but we are ready for this challenge. We understand that we need to convey our ideas to the players more quickly, to convey the principles of our game, so that with every training session, with each day we improve and come to the first game in the Conference League in the best possible condition.
