Playing president of “Kudrivka” Roman Solodarenko, who will play in the UPL for the first time in the 2025/26 season, assessed his club’s prospects in the elite Ukrainian division and recalled his promise regarding participation in the Champions League.
Roman Solodarenko— Do you believe that “Kudrivka” will play in the UPL for more than one season?
— I am confident about this, absolutely. I am a maximalist. Many know how “Kudrivka” began to form in the early 2000s. We have gone through a long and difficult path, we already have something to be proud of, and there will be even more reasons for pride in the future.
I am confident that “Kudrivka” will not be the team that will fight only for survival in the UPL.
— In an interview with my colleague Arthur Valerko, you said that in a few years you want to see “Kudrivka” in the Champions League. This was in 2023. Were you joking or just hyping?
— What kind of joke is that!? Look at the progress of “Kudrivka”, in two years we have moved from an almost amateur team to the UPL. We still have five years until the Champions League. (Smiling). A considerable, good term. We will do it.
