The opening minutes were led by the hosts, however, the Ukrainians withstood the pressure, moved the game to the center of the field, and responded with their combinations. In the 17th minute, the Dynamo connection of Vivcharenko — Voloshyn — Vanat worked. Vladyslav broke through on a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but the linesman flagged for offside.
In the 21st minute, a defensive error resulted in an unnecessary corner, after which Neshcheret reacted to a header from close range. Ruslan was a noticeable figure in the first half — he confidently dealt with exits, responded to flanking crosses, and generally added confidence to his teammates.
The most dangerous moment of the first half occurred in the 38th minute. The Ukrainians played a combination on the left flank: Vivcharenko passed to Braharu in the center, who found Voloshyn in the penalty area. Nazar curled the ball into the far upper corner, but Iturbe, in a jump, deflected it for a corner.
In the 43rd minute, Ocheretko attempted to curl the ball into the net with a direct shot from the corner, but the Spanish goalkeeper, albeit not without difficulty, dealt with the threat. Almost immediately, Mykhavko headed the ball — next to the goal frame.
At halftime, the Spaniards updated their lineup, while the Ukrainians made only one substitution — Yermakov replaced Neshcheret in goal. He immediately entered the game: in the 49th minute, the goalkeeper punched the ball off the head of the Spaniard, and later reacted to a shot under the crossbar from Marin.
At the end of the regular time, the teams exchanged scoring chances. Mykhavko headed a shot into the near corner, and in the 79th minute, Yermakov was able to react to a dangerous ricochet after Moleiro's shot.
In the 90+2nd minute, the Ukrainians played a throw-in on the left flank. After V'yunyk's cross, Kvasnytsia won the aerial duel and headed the ball into the corner — 1:0!
