The head coach of "Epitsentr" Sergii Nahorniak commented on the matches of the Ukrainian national team at the Canadian Shield 2025.
— Sergii Mykolaiovych, what are your expectations from the matches of the Ukrainian national team against Canada and New Zealand at the Canadian Shield 2025?
— Overall, no expectations. Just playing football in Canada. A bit responsibly. It is clear that these are friendly matches. Perhaps the coaches can work on some tactical moments.
— Can we predict what the results will be?
— I hope they win. Although New Zealand and Canada are not easy opponents. We always want the national team to win. These are friendly matches. They always give food for thought and various experiments. In official matches, the level of responsibility is completely different. It’s all different.
— But can players like Zinchenko, who played little this season, give their all?
— Who played little? Zinchenko. The same Yaremchuk. Although Roman did well, scoring at the end of the season. Whoever else hasn’t gotten tired, of course. And the youth! The same Bondarenko, Martyniuk. These guys might debut for the national team, and that’s a memory for a lifetime.
— Will these guys run as much as possible on the field?
— Everyone will run. There will just be no fear about the result and such responsibility.
