After the victory (1:0) over Ivory Coast in the first match of the Canadian tournament, the head coach of the New Zealand national team Darren Beazley was delighted.
Darren Beazley— I think it is a big deal. We achieved a result against a good team. We know we are a good team, but we have long struggled to win against higher-ranked teams. So winning, I think, was very good from a belief perspective.
There are still things that need to be improved, as always, but overall I am very satisfied with the game, the attitude, and the efforts the guys put in. It was really a good performance, — said Beazley.
